If you thought 2015 was a good year for up-and-coming talent, wait until you see the fresh faces ready to break into film and TV in 2016. And by "fresh faces"—that's what they usually say about women, right?—I mean the super attractive dudes primed to take over your screen-savers and star in your fan-fiction in the coming year.
1. Rami Malek
If you watched the first season of Mr. Robot (and if not, what is wrong with you?), perhaps you're still imagining yourself wrapped in one of Elliot's trademark hoodies. The reclusive programmer exudes irresistible mystery thanks to Malek, who will be back for season two. He'll also star in Sarah Adina Smith's Buster's Mal Heart.
2. John Boyega
Even without Jedi mind tricks, Boyega's starring role in this year's long-awaited and well-received Star Wars sequel has him booked for years to come. He's set to play the love interest to Emma Watson in 2016's The Circle.
3. Keith Stanfield
You may remember Stanfield as Young Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton or as Marcus in 2013's Short Term 12–either way, he's gotten enough attention to get cast in 2016's Snowden(alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley) and War Machine (with Brad Pitt).
4. Nick Robinson
He played a brave (albeit snotty) teenager in Jurassic World, and now the he'll play a young man who boldly helps save the globe from alien attacks (or something) in the book-turned-movie-series The 5th Wave.
5. Édgar Ramírez
In Joy, he charmed audiences (and the film's leading lady, Jennifer Lawrence); in Point Break, a remake of the beloved 1991 surfer flick, he took on a role originated by Patrick Swayze (tough shoes to fill, so cut him some slack); in 2016, he'll be a part of the best-selling book-turned-movie The Girl on the Train.
6. Miles Heizer
There are a plethora of cuties in The Stanford Prison Experiment, but one of the young standouts is teenage prison guard, Miles Heizer, whose period-perfect blonde mustache almostmakes up for this year's series finale of Parenthood, in which he also starred. (It was so hard to see that show go!) You can watch him in the 2016 thriller Nerve, too, and also enjoy him being generally adorable on Instagram.
7. Jake Lacy
You may know him for mostly sweet, quiet roles in Obvious Child, Love the Coopers, and/orGirls, but let this be the year everyone sees Lacy for the leading man he deserves to be. He'll return for another season of Girls in February and you can also see him in the ensemble comedy How to Be Single.
8. Ki Hong Lee
OK, I can't help myself, let me pick one more hottie from The Stanford Prison Experiment, Ki Hong Lee. You might also recognize as Kimmy's smart and charming love interest, Dong, from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Minho from both Maze Runners.
9. Mike Colter
He's had a ton of roles over the years—in The Good Wife, The Following, American Horror Story: Coven—but now that he's Luke Cage in Jessica Jones (and getting his own Luke Cage show on Netflix), he's right on the edge of bonafide stardom.
